I'm putting this here in the Pig Pen because I realize it may at first flush (giggle) strike some cat people the wrong way.
~However~
I think if you will read this and then think it through you will see . . . it really isn't that bad an idea. Here goes:
Ever wondered how to effectively give kitty a bath without being shredded in the process?
Try this next time. Without making any special "bath preparations" (cats are very sensative to this kind of thing - like kids are) pick kitty up and cuddle. Spend a few minutes talking baby talk and rubbing their tummys. As they begin to relax and get into it, move slowly into the bathroom. Be sure to keep rubbing and cuddling. Now, when you're ready, throw kitty in the toilet, slam the lid with your foot and flush - twice if they were really dirty.
One word of warning; use a broomhandle from outside the bathroom door to open the lid - then run as fast as you can out of the house.
If you use Tidybowl . . . mints, your kitty will smell as fresh as mountain air when dry.
I'm still working on how to fix the blue fur though

Well ct, I am not a cat lover for sure, and thats a very interesting cat bath system you've invented. . My wife has 3 cats and I wish they (cats) were all living somewhere else. Then again, she told me the same thing the other night, hmmm. I hope you havent given some bored kid another idea on how to torment Fluffy the Puttycat tho,
Jasmine (my cat) hates baths, but we give them to her because it keeps the dander down. She gets upset, but you can still get the job done if you do it quickly. She is four wheel drive (not declawed) but she doesnt use them too badly. If I put Jasmine in the toilet, Im pretty sure that my wife would completely pummel any remnant left of me by the animal rights activists.

I may be talking out of school here, if so forgive the blurp. My wife , the resident feline expert, says that it is totally wrong to give a cat a bath. I had always thought that cats just like sitting around licking their butts, but she informed me that cats "bath" themselves by licking and preening their fur all over. She said cats have a natural oil in their hair that doesnt allow the dirt to get down to the skin very well. When the oil is diminished by washing with soap, it removes the oil, allowing the dirt and dried soap to stick to the cats skin, promoting cat dander. She has 3, never bathed them in 7 yrs, and all 3 of them have a lot of beautiful white fur. All of them like to roll around in my freshly tilled garden, scratch over their droppings in it, and yet they end up shiny white again ,before bedtime. Of course if you cat has allergies or your vet prescribes cat bathing, then the above is all just kittylitter.
yeck, cats, give me a big ole hairy dog anyday,
This joke was told on the morning radio show one day.
One day an older gent is outside puttering around the yard and happens to notice the young boy from next door doing something by the fence so he wanders over to the fence and asks what the boy is up to. "Oh, I'm just burying my goldfish," says the boy, "he just died." "Oh," the man replies as he has a peek over the fence; "That's a pretty big hole for a goldfish isn't it?" As he's patting down the last little bit of dirt the boy replies; "yeah, well, that's because he's inside your stupid cat."
I love cats but the joke IS funny regardless of like or dislike for them, probably even funnier for cat lovers.
Oddly enough, I have trouble keeping the resident hell-raiser out of the bathroom. When I shower, I need to LOCK the door to keep him from jumping in the shower with me, yes, he can open an unlocked door ****. His coat, however, isn't the problem, unfortunately. My old tom cat has diabetes and needs regular baths to stay clean. His apathy makes it somewhat easier to get him soaped up but there is still enough of a struggle that I usually end up wet. Ironically, after his bathings, he purrs like there's no tomorrow and won't leave me alone. Now only if he could get it through his thick skull that the baths make him purr afterwards, lol. Think I may try the toilet approach next time. Need to pick up one of those dye things though, I think he'd look cool green. I'm a diehard animal lover, furball, and yes,, that is a very funny joke. Anyone remember those popular 1001 Uses For A Dead Cat books about 10- 15 years ago? Hilarious.
I used to help my sister bathe her cat, he would put up a bit of a struggle when you picked him up and headed fo rthe bathroom and once he was in the water he would voice his displeasure with some low "roowwrs" and would struggle a little but he wasn't too sure of his footing it seemed so he didn't try to fight too much. It does help having one person to hold and one to do the bathing.
I bathed my Maine Coon cat a few years ago after she had a run-in with orange ink (I don't wanna know). She wasn't happy...but now loves water. I fish her out of a pond at least once a month all summer.
Front loader washing machines.....allow you to stand to one side when ya open the door thereby saving you from being clawed Thats assuming the cat survives, if it doesn't: new cats are a dime a dozen outside Walmart on Saturday mornings.... (cheaper than skeet too!)
