Stuck in KOER on start
Running a 94 F-150 w/a 302, EEC-IV. It happened intermittently, but now every time it starts, it's stuck in the KOER test. It advances, flashes a "4" engine ID code, and then idles down - continues with the whole KOER test until it's shifted into gear.
I checked the obvious - shorted wires, looked for water and corrosion in the connector. It does NOT go into KOEO when the iginition is turned on, and runs a smooth check when each test is initiated normally - 111's all the way. FWIW, it runs a good cylinder balance test too.
Has anyone seen this, and does anyone know of a definitive test to eliminate the computer before blowing a couple hundred $$ on a new one?
Thanks!
