question about check engine light

question about check engine light

i know this its a little late to be asking, but im curious. trucks in sig. anyway a while back my check engine light would blink on and off. soemtimes it would stay on for a while, other times it would stay off. i haven't seen it come on in a while, but then agian i stop bothing with it after a while. nothing seemed otu of the ordanary. fluids were fine and the truck is running fine or so it seems to me anyway. any idea of what was going on?

it usually means there is a temporary problem that has corrected itself. might wanna check for codes to be on the safe side...

Pull the codes to find out what sensor(s) triggered it.

Check here to learn how without a scanner.

It could have been as simple as having bad gas, causing it to ping just enough for the knock sensor to pick up. Really, it could have been anything. Pull the codes first.
