@Paddler would love to see a photo of your front end described above.
@ford_firefighter I haven't decided whether to use the 6sp that came with the 4x4 '04, or stay with the auto original to the 2WD '97. I suspect neither route is a simple bolt-up compatibility. Maybe I need a '97 auto from a 4x4 donor. Don't know yet. Still watching, learning, etc.

Thanks Paddler, I’ll definitely do that. And yeah love to see some pictures, especially the lift hight, I want a little something but not impractical…
As far as the transmission wkf94025 it may be more efficient to have a shop put in the correct tail shaft for your current transmission so that it works for your t-case… double check my info tho I’m still learning! 😆
If all it took was a custom shaft, I'd be thrilled. My guess is I am in for more than that. But also still very much a noob in this arena. Though I already knew what an RSK is, why you want one, and what it's functionality is. ;-)
Great truck, I would fix her up instead, doesn't take much to make it look bad *** again
I absolutely would have but it was a “my best friends uncle died and they lost the title, but I bought the truck from him” kinda deal. So the best I could get was a bill of sale :/
It's not too difficult to get a new title issued. Might cost a bit but not much.
Be a shame to cannibalize that whole truck if you dont have to. Looks to be in good shape.
The seller said when he opened the hood, it was packed with hay and trash to the point he couldn’t see any part of the engine.
I figured it would cost a pretty penny to rewire all that plus the title fiasco.
Okay so an engine wire harness isn’t all that expensive after all…..
Dnag it! I have a plan, I find a truck, I buy it, haul it 250miles home and now you guys get me off track!

This is my build truck! Travel Time Conversion, all power interior, leather seats, gray headliner and trim, cherry red, running boards all the way around including the fenders!
It was my dads truck and I want to keep it in the family but I really want to be driving a 4x4 truck and especially since they didn’t make them in this configuration! So that’s the backstory!
That truck is mint, no wonder. But think about it, fix the donor truck, flip, make some profit and buy a 4x4 Super Duty and then do axel swap with front coil
