Well I know I have not been around much lately, I've had a freakin' bad year. Good news is I still have the truck and though that might sound good I no longer have a wife to tell me not to buy parts. Just when I seemed to be shaking off the gloom I discovered I needed emergency brain surgery. Finally back to work and am legally divorced but still wrapping up some loose ends... like how much comes out of my retirement for her, 29 yrs is a long time to be married. I've gone through so much I might be slipping to the dark side and thinking on finding a Lightning to stuff under the body but I want to see if I can do 5 or 6 speed manual. I'm not sure how the ECU will like a manual though. I'm also getting closer and closer to retiring and would love to be able to drive it. Right now runs but still in basic rough form. Yeah I know many been through worse but DANG IT! this sucks
Yup life can definitely throw curves but the fact that your checking in and thinking about build options is a big plus and may be a good part of the cure . Good luck going forward . PS It's not so bad here on the dark side , we have cookies . lol

Yeah I decided I need to get back to what makes me, me. I've been working on this truck since the 70's when it was dad's. I've heard and I like Cookies...Yum
Whew out of all that bad news I thought when you said "going to the dark side" were gonna say something about a Dodge...
But seriously, enjoy that truck!
Nah, I'm not THAT messed up to go Dodge or brand C. I saw a lady driving a Lightning and that sounded like it should have been mine.... wait she wasn't wearing a ring...Dang it, I think my lady, the future ex wife
drove through my life....Just my luck..
Look straight ahead. One day at a time. enjoy that truck , and whatever else you can.
Yeah I plan on doing just that. I have been showing my youngest how old school did things and the truck is perfect, but I have a warped sense of humor and it shows sometimes.
Glad you dropped us a note. Life's a bitch sometimes but it's better than the alternative. Keep plugging along and enjoy the truck. A lightning Go for it brother.
@Kurt G. I haven't been around here long enough to know you and feel a little funny about commenting however I truly hate to hear what you have been going through. I've had my truck since 1975. That is longer than my Wife that I have known since 2006. I haven't quite gotten to the point that she starts saying "You love THAT TRUCK more than you love me". I'm having to hide from her how much money that I'm spending on the '54. I hate blowing $50- at Olive Garden on a bunch of noodles and two black olives when I can eat Spaghetti at home and buy a shiny new emblem for my truck.

I thought I would bust a gut when I read this. I can sooooo relate to it!
I am working on the truck but not as much as I really want to. I have a bunch of parts and ideas to get into motion and am trying to do just that. Thank you for the support one and all of you.
