Driveshaft

How far into the transmission does the drive shaft need to go? also if I push it all the way in I can wiggle it up and down a little bit. This is a 90 ish aod.

The splined yoke should have about 3/4 of it's length inside the trans tailshaft and it should not be bottomed out when bolted to the rear axle. In my experience some movement in the shaft doesn't seem to be unusual, if it doesn't vibrate or leak you are good. Also the spline doesn't get lubricated by the trans and should be greased at assembly.
