I bought the 2019 2WD option with the 6.2 gas engine and love the truck. However, I am not happy with the stance. I just found our by doing research and calling multiple companies that a leveling option is not available for this mode due to the twin I beam suspension.
My question is, what is the largest tire I can run on this truck with limited rubbing? Has it improved stance for anyone else? Any other option to bring it up by 2.5 that I’m not thinking of? Thanks
Just to be clear, 2WD is standard, and 4WD is an option, although 4WD is included on some optional higher trim levels.
Note that going to larger wheels / tires effectively reduces the axle ratio. That might be an issue for a heavily loaded 6.2 in certain driving conditions.
We ordered our 2019 F-350 2WD 6.2 with the optional 4.30 axle. I changed the OEM LT275/65R18E tires to size LT275/70R18E (see pic below), and I had our dealer reprogram our truck for the new tire size to correct the speedometer, odometer, trip odometers, and mpg displays. The effective axle ratio changed to ~4.16.
The main purpose of the change was to unofficially increase our truck’s GVWR and payload, but I must admit that I like the improved appearance.
I ran a 285/65/18 on my 2011 2wd. I feel that is the best tire for a 2wd and it gets the load rating up too. Little taller, little wider, not too heavy.
I ran a set of 295/65/18 and they rubbed so a 33x12.50 would rub too. As mentioned the 275/70/18 would work.
You should get a 4x4 if you want to lift it. I thought my 2wd was pretty sporty with the 285s on it, these trucks are big enough.
