Anybody tried the import carburetors to replace the one barrel Holly 1904? Prices are tempting. Have Loadamatic distributor. Running an old Carter but having problems. This is for my '59 F350 223 six. Or if anyone wants to sell a rebuildable 1904?
You could also get an Autolite 1100. They also work with the load-o-matic distributors.
That would broaden the search. I bought a 1904 on eBay years ago and rebuilt it only to find the mount holes were wrong. I'm leary of buying used now unless I know for sure what it came off of.

Also verify the mounting holes on those cheap replacements. I seem to recall someone who had that problem but can't remember who it was

measurements are a little worrisome. Some measure outside flange. None measure center to center hole like I would expect. All in mm which I can deal with. The pictures with carburetor upside down tell me most dealers are "resellers" with no idea what they are selling. I will measure my manifold studs before ordering anything.
About two years ago a guy on Ebay bought a complete inventory from a carb rebuilding company and was selling them for best offer, I got a 1904 with a glass bowl for $100, he had five of them and I wish I had bought them all. I haven't tried it, just saving for a back up in the future but it looks really nice.

I don't know about that LOL, it looks like a sunken float to me. The float should be level with the fuel level. Possibly the fuel level is just low from not running for a while?
