The F350 axle mount pad.
The housing is made of inferior and thinner materials. I've seen some folks mention its done to try to make the truck lighter weight for federal emissions? I say if that is needed then get rid of those stinking crew cabs, since that is about all that is offered now.
How about just the good old extended cab?
I would paste the video here but that can not be done on this site anymore. And the manage attachments will not work for me.

Who needs all that room in a extended cab really? Why don’t they just make regular cabs? Who buys these crew cabs anyway and why does ford force us to get the crew cabs?
I wish this was driven by the consumers wants and needs rather than being forced on us by the manufactures!

Um, I do, and so does the guy that posted above. Enough room for the fam while towing a 5er.
You really think Ford builds more CCs because they want to **** all its customers off? Lol
Its called supply and demand. Plain and simple. More people want the CC period. If people wanted ext or basic cabs, they would flood the dealer lots.

The last ext. cab I had was an ‘06 F150. Due to circumstances I decided to sell it, put it on a consignment lot in town. It sat there for a long time while several crew cabs with higher mileage sold for almost as much as what I was asking for the ext. cab. I never did get it sold and ended up trading it for another vehicle. The dealer it traded with ended up taking it to auction. That speaks volumes to me as to why so many crew cabs vs extended cabs. The ext. cab is more of a niche market.

Yeah, Ford is building crew cabs because that is what customers are ordering. Just look at the 2022 order spreadsheet posted here. It is at least 10 to 1 crew cabs over regular and extended. These are customer orders, not just what Ford wants to build...
I have an extended cab on order because I don't need no stinkin school bus myself

I opened this thread thinking great, another recall, but its an anti crew cab thread hahaha. Might wanna change the thread title. Ford does have an extra cab and even a regular cab version of the Super Duty. Yes they limit certain options with those cabs but they do exist......As for federal emissions being the reason for thinner axle tubes, I call bs.
