rear differential friction modifier additive

I have a 2002 F250, 7.3 desiel. I'm changing rear differential gear oil. I have limited slip diff. I have an electrical connection on the diff case, so does that mean i have an electrical locking diff and i need no friction modifier additive?

Thats the rear axle speed sensor, not a locking diff. If you have a limited slip, you need the friction modifier.

A lot of the synthetic gear oils needed for the rears come with the additive already mixed in the bottle. I have heard that some people needed to add additional friction additive if they get chatter while turning.

Thank you, much appreciated. After some digging on this forum, I though that electrical connection might be a sensor. I just wanted another opinion.
