Nobody jumped me!

Just this week I was in wet grass on a slight uphill and had wheel spin with my truck. Yeah, I could have backed up and got out if it, but I just put ‘er into 4x4. I also could have used my locker.
Once I went to back my bumper pull trailer uphill to my campsite and couldn’t make it without putting the truck into 4 wheel drive.
My 1st new truck was a 1979 F150 4x2. There were many times I wished I would gotten a 4x4. My trucks since then have all been 4x4.
I now have a 2017 F350 4x4, a 1998 Jeep Wrangler, and a 2021 Subaru Forester with all wheel drive, and still avoid driving when it snows. But when I need more than 1 wheel pulling, I got it.

Might want to consider that time when you must back uphill into a camping spot. The extra low gearing of the xfer case might just prevent a smoked transmission. Might not be an issue with later transmissions but I know of two E4ODs that were smoked by that exact procedure. The E4OD in the F 150 survived but the one in the F350 failed. The sad story is, the guy in the F350 just did not have enough presence of mind to go into 4WD because his wheels were not spinning as he turned a loaded goose neck around on my property.

That'll pull that trailer just fine. Maybe we'll meet at one of the FTE events.
