I work for a major railroad. You'd be surprised at how often this happens. These days it's all about deferred maintenance and 3 mile long trains.
deferred maintenance almost sank the saratoga when i was on it. some brain decided the 10" sea water valves could be deferred for 12 months,
oh great until the line ahead of it springs a leak and only way to shut it off is to kill firemain pumps. nope . just let it leak and flood the ship
back to OMG railroad wreck...wonder if ford can reclaim the abs chips they were waiting for ,
It would be interesting to see how many made it out unscathed. How well are they tied down? Some are definitely toast
I'm a Class 1 railroad freight conductor and have heard that if a loaded auto-rack car derails, insurance requires that everything in it be totaled, regardless of any visible damage. Maximum coupling speed of 5 mph with those cars on BNSF. I’ve switched more than a few of them.

So if that is the case-What happens to the trucks-they can't go to Copart for auction?

Nope, they are crushed and destroyed. Each one of those auto racks will be considered a loss of lading if derailed. Also, while super duty trucks do originate in CSX, they will end up on other railroads in interchange depending on where they are headed.
My understanding is CSX ships super duty's. Since that is in MO, I'm guessing they may be F150s as they are built in Kansas City (I think) and Norfolk Southern has a facility there.
NS Takes fords east out of KC, UP takes Fords west out of KC, they interchange here..... More the likely they are all 150s and transits heading east.
