Another month, another thread. Summer break is almost over. We have had a pretty laid back summer. Only went to the one BBQ and that was around the fourth. We are planning to go the Topless 100 again at Batesville Motor Speedway right after school starts back. That'll be a nice break, worked more this Summer than I have all year I think.
I swapped in a new speedo driven gear tonight. It's a pretty close fit, speedometer is spot on up until around 65 and it's only off a little once you get up there. Still need to work on the camber and replace all the brakes. I got more emergency lights for the truck. Got a heck of a deal on two used sets. All in all I got three times what's on the truck for about the same money. Once I work on the brakes some I'll start driving it every day. Way behind on my projects. Truck bed trailer is still unfinished. Shed is still half dismantled. Garden is over grown. Haven't started on the shadow box for the piece of stained glass salvaged from the church that burned. Guess I need to work on scheduling. I did finish that house in Lake City, and another one over there that didn't need much. Monday I'll be back on the one here in town. It doesn't need much more. This round. It'll be a perpetual labor project I think.
Much cooler today than it has been. I took a guy in Blytheville some doors today and ran to Lake City as soon as I got in to finish the plumbing as he hasn't heard anything from the plumber. Truck did great, drive was nice, and didn't use too much fuel.
Haven't been here in a few days. Spent the morning laying tarps down under a plum tree. And now my back is sore and out of whack. Lots of low branches.
Had a pretty good day yesterday. Got to drive engine three to a rural truck fire. Another Ford taken out by a blower resistor it looks like. They were finishing putting it out when I got out there so I didn't have to do any work. Hauled a $600 load of scrap(hadn't made a run in a month so we had a stockpile of the good stuff). Got the in-laws in the rent house, and they paid rent. And I didn't really have to do much work. Only put in half a day today as well. Got to start back in pretty hard tomorrow though. Got three counters to replace, some ceiling tile to put up, one small(tiny) ceiling to paint. Some touch-up on the walls and just a bit of trim. And outside I've got a storm door to hand and about 3 pieces of soffit to put back up. So not too bad. Got a week and a half to get that finished. Should have it done by the end of the week, but it's nice having that buffer.
Still trying to put things back together after covid. I am over it but it kicked my wifes tail. I think she is on the road to recovery. Have not been to work since the 21st. My son is leaving the body shop, going back to orilleys part time and attending vo tech in tool and die. Ordered some plexiglass (stuff is $$$} to fix back window of the 93, swapping tires around on it. Got a back bumper & tail light in it and the reciever usable.Going to try to get the electric brakes working on it. Kramer, still interested in that back window. Hoped to get a lot more done this summer, will be deer season again soon.
We got some rain today, didn't come down hard, just took a few hours to move thru. Been doing some cleanup but I have to take frequent breaks. Will more in the morning before the heat wave hits again. Maybe I'll be able do some more on the truck by next weekend.
It for sure needs a new latch. I've had this one apart and all the seals are good. Operates fine. It was a different style than my 82 so I'd have to swap the gasket around to use it. Between that and the anodized coating coming off one of the pieces I decided to keep my noisy one. But mostly I didn't swap because my glass is tinted and this one isn't. Slider is in really good shape. It's just dirty.
Thanks Kramer, as soon as we are on our feet from this covid mess, i will try to get with you. I plan to go back to work tomorrow, been off since the 22nd. Wife is still weak and tired feeling. Any body mess with appliances? I have a old whirlpool dryer that works but sometimes shuts off, about 35 years old. I have a 4 year old maytag washer that takes forever to fill up.Free if anybody wants them.

Not interested in the appliances, but the dryer is probably a worn door switch and on the washer I would check the inlet screens on the water valve.
Glad you two are recovering well. I know many who have caught it, but have missed it myself.
Checked the screens, took the valves off, checked voltage to them, everything seems fine. It has a sensing switch to allow the water level to match the load, thats my next guess. I will check door switch, many a good appliance thrown out because of door switch. I am fine, but my wife is still struggling, weak and coughing 3 weeks after testing positive and a week after an infusion.
Been a long week already. Just got back from town. Had a drug screen for the City. My father in law had surgery and there's already been some complications. They expect him to be out 4-6 weeks and they've talked me into covering for him. With any luck it'll go alright and they'll just add another full-time position and keep me on. Municipal peanuts are pretty good I'd imagine, nice and regular too. Got a physical therapy appointment Friday. Plan to take the truck and leave from there to Cave City to spend the weekend at Mom's before all the kids go back to school. Hopefully the city won't want me to start until next week. I think I've still got about 40 hours worth of stuff to do before Friday. Let some of the inlaws move into my rent house last week and the water heater ruptured yesterday. Trying to figure that one out currently. Got one and a half more big projects on my buddies place that need to be done this week as well. And I'm awful tempted to just take a nap and start back in tomorrow.
Went to the eye doc today. Man those eye drops they gave me really screwed up my eyesight for a while. Can finally see to read a computer screen. Haven't really done much lately because of the heat. Maybe next week when we get some relief.

Hmm.... usually when the sensing switch goes it won't fill at all and if the sensing tube is clogged it will overfill. That's about as far as my appliance knowledge goes. Except for my own I try to stay far away.
