Trying to decide if I should make my 22 order or skim a 21 off a lot with the smaller screen. Probably be hitting at the same time.

I personally would not take, buy or have anything to do with a truck that sat in a field for six months. I remember my first new car, 1971 Toyota Carona, I worked for the Toyota distributor in New Orleans. At least those cars were coated in cosmolene (sp) for protection while on that slow boat from Japan. We had a special car wash that used Kerosene to clean them before going to dealer lots.

Not a chance I am taking a new car (truck) with surface rust, mice, dirt dobbers and who knows what for nearly the same price as a one year newer truck.

I'm 99% sure the actual dash is the same. There are trim pieces, HVAC, audio controls, vents that would need to be swapped (other than the screen and relevant modules). This was already figured out for Sync 3 F-150s iirc, so it won't be long till it gets sorted for the Super Duty. As for how much it will cost? No idea, but it isn't going to be cheap.

Just take a look at the dash on the 2020 F150 and compare it to the 2021 F150.

This will give one an idea of what’s changed and what to look forward to in the 2022 SD.

I think it’s like $1,100.

I want a 16 : 9 wide ratio screen, not one that looks like your phone held up and down.

well I have a 21 f-150 in my driveway. I’m looking at the interior shots of the 2022 SDs and I listed the parts that look different. The actual dash and top tray in the 21 F-150 is definitely NOT what is on the 22 SD.

I like the Ford version of a horizontally wider screen. Definitely an improvement.
Bigger makes for a more impressive interior, as long as they continue to retain button and switch redundancy in the future.
Definitely not a reason to trade with the rest of the same old and dated interior.
Hoping 23’ brings the F-150 interior to the SD.

Hopefully they get all the bugs worked out it by then. I just upgraded from a 2021 fully loaded Lariat F150 to a 2021 F250 Lariat. The F150 screen was definitely nicer than the old 8" screen and in fact it has me seriously considering an aftermarket upgrade. The problem was it seemed like it had a mind of its own. The Android Auto wireless connecting was very intermittent, the alarm would go off randomly where I had to manually switch to only perimeter monitoring all the time, the tailgate on multiple occasions wouldn't open. There were also some other things with the adaptive cruise control that seemed to have a mind of its own as well. Ultimately the reason I upgraded was because I had the 5.0 and in the first 7000 mil I had to put almost 4 qts of oil in it. With the used truck prices being crazy now I was able to trade it in and basically only lost some of the sales tax I paid. I got 1k over what I paid for it. I did have to pay sticker for the new F250 but overall not a bad deal and I am much happier with the SuperDuty.

I'm guessing you are talking about the chin spoiler or valence?

Not mine.
Personally not interested in this one. No button redundancy.
