You're correct my Ford warranty certification is meaningless to you. Best of luck getting your trucks leaks warrantied.

Hope they don't deny mine when I take it in Thursday. Front diff and whole bottom of oil pan soaked, plus everywhere else oil can blow while I'm driving.

Is it just the 2020s?

Nevermind. I see it is more than 2020s

Can't help but wonder if there's excessive crankcase pressure when running higher rpms thats causing this.

Don't think you're going to have an issue with warranty fixing that.

I doubt it, I drive my truck like a grandpa, probably too easy on it and it idles about 75% of its run time and I had the issue.

Nothing on my truck leaked until I towed my camper across the Mojave in 100F heat. The climb into Nevada is like 17 miles long uphill.

Thanks for the update Scrap. After 2-1/2 years and 17,000 miles I finally got underneath my 2022 to take a really close look. As you can see below it looks like I do have some minor weeping going on, but certainly no signs of major fluid loss. I'll show the pictures to my dealer next time I'm there, but I'm not really expecting much based on what I see. In fact (and I'm sure I'll get flamed for saying this) I'm not sure I would authorize a warranty claim at this point, if I was the one in charge.

Another reason I won't lose much sleep over it is that, based on my usage, I may very well buy an extended warranty before my 36 months are up. As you can see from my mileage so far this isn't a daily driver, it's definitely low mileage use. God willing this truck, our fifth wheel (and my wife and I) will be able to go on adventures for another 15 to 20 years. I might get flamed again for saying this, but I really love this truck and I'd like to keep it, so having a 10 year insurance policy might be worth the peace of mind in my case.

One thing for sure though, checking that seal is now on my routine maintenance list!

The pan looks dry as a bone.

Tiny shadowed area, presumably from weeping.

Didn't the Beatles have a song about "While my 7.3 gently weeps."

True visionaries, way ahead of their time, those Beatle chaps.

Well I'll be Darn!

So, here's an update that might surprise you, it sure surprised me. Yesterday I was at my dealer getting an oil change in my Escape, so I showed the service manager the picture of my "weeping" seal. He took one look at it and said "for sure that's covered, let's get it fixed before it becomes a bigger problem". I have to say I've been really happy with Hunt Ford in Franklin, KY all along, and this is one example why. Two thumbs and two toes up!
