I have a 2002 7.3 an doing a motor swap from a 99 to my 2002 body with the 99 7.3 . Plus changing out wiring harness , glow plugs , glow plug Cylinoids , pigtail , an valve cover gaskets . On the 99 are there any special requirements I need to do or buy before I make swap . Does this match up in the 2002 body an tranny ? Any info will help please
That would depend on if the engine is an E99 or a 99.5. Transmission and body pretty much no problem, the issues come into play with the turbo intake tube and downpipe alignment. If it's a 99.5 it's plug and play except maybe for an intake air heater, which is not hard to work out.
What engine was in the 02 originally? Do you have the complete wiring harness including pcm? Does the pcm match the transmission in the 02?
yes I have the complete wiring harness an cpm it’s the 7.3 international 8 digit is f , as far as checking the pcm I was taking the wiring harness out the 99 cpm an all an relacing it into the 02

not sure truck was for sale it was hit by deer an motor an tranny was solid . Only right fender an hood damaged . I paid 2000 for whole truck which I know it’s way worth more than that it only has 140,000 original miles on motor. I’ll call an see real fast it’s at the shop
Should go right in. You can look at your spider and see if they are the same. Also the glow plug relay to see if they are the same. Other then that direct fit. Having the harness really helps, go for it. If it's and early motor it won't have the intake heater.
