Our 2022 F250 XLT Premium 7.3 is in production, and I’m trying to figure out before the truck is here if it will have a forward facing camera, the one mounted in the grill in or near the blue oval emblem. It appears to me that the only way that you get any extra camera’s, beyond the rear view one in the tailgate, and the one in the high mount stop light if you opt for that, is with the Ultimate Trailer Tow Package, and of course that’s not available with the gas engine. Can someone in the know please confirm if what I’m seeing is correct? I’m trying to decide on a grill guard, and I don’t want to buy one with the cutout for the camera, if indeed we won’t have that camera. Thanks!! 😉
The UTT package is available with a gas engine. To answer your question, unless it has changed for 2022, you will not have the front facing camera without the complete camera package.

I digress, you are correct. I was looking at the high capacity trailer tow with UTT, which does require the diesel. Either way, I wasn’t interested. Thanks for your help, much appreciated!!
if you have the 360 view / Ultimate tow package. I have it on my 2020 7.3L
OK, just to be sure and certain, if I don’t have any of these optional camera packages, I’m not going to have that forward facing camera in the grill. Is that correct? Thanks very much!!

That is correct, the UTT is a $1,655 option on the XLT so you would have had to order that option to have the front camera.
Yeah, we already have a couple of vehicles with the camera on the back end, and recognize the value in them and the alarms if there’s anything/anyone back there, the one will even stop the car if you don’t do it. My wife did convince me to pony up for the camera on the back of the cab on the new truck, and I do believe that will be kind of handy when hooking up to a gooseneck trailer. I think I’ll get along without any more cameras than that, I’m kind of a low tech old geezer. 😉
I haven’t gotten my truck yet but that was one of the packages I knew I wanted from the beginning! I loved the birdseye view in my wife’s Pathfinder, and with this even larger vehicle I knew I would want it in it. Saying that,I wish it were separate from the UTT part… I don’t care about that and feel like it’s probably the most expensive part of that bundled package. I bet if it weren’t all together they wouldn’t sell as many of the PTBA packages.

The UTT camera's were one of my must haves when truck shopping, use the camera's often. The camera and/or screen resolution leaves a lot to be desired, but still useful imo. The UTT package was $710 in 2019, prior to the PTBA feature being available on the Super Duty. So the inclusion of the PTBA did add quite a bit to the cost of the package. I think you are right, if they didn't combine the PTBA into the UTT package many would pass on the back up assist option.
