I have a 2020 F150 limited and I'm getting conflicting GCWR online. Ford towing guides says a GCWR of 16,700 for my truck, owners manual says 16,700 for 3.5 GTDI 10.5:1 and 17,000 for the 3.5 GTDI your website, using the vin decoder, says 14,400. You website also said I only have a 1280# payload capacity when my window sticker says I have 1550# and 6750# GVWR. I looked for the Ford Vin Calculator but that is apparently gone after the mass advertising done by truck websites to show it was there.
I'm also looking for exactly what tow package I have. It was around 9**.00 dollars but no numbers designating what it was.
So where can I find the correct information?
Any help would be appreciated.
The sticker on the drivers door frame will tell you the towing and payload capacity. Payload is going to be the limiting factor unless you're pulling a flat trailer versus a travel trailer. Nothing online supersedes the door sticker, as it takes into account all the addons from the various convenience/ comfort packages.
Nothing you can add (airbags, etc.) will add to the payload of the truck either. They may help level it out a bit, but not increase capacity.
Surprising, the door sticker has no information on GCWR, towing capacities or the like. It has axle weights, GVWR (6750#), VIN and color code and that's pretty much it.

This is correct. You have to back into the GCWR. The sticker on the door frame will tell you the cargo/payload capacity. The tongue weight comes out of that.
Open the link below, which is the 2020 Ford Towing Guide. Go to page 18. At the bottom of the page is the Turbo Diesel specifications. Go along the column headings for your truck's configuration and you'll find the right trailer weight. The GCWR will be on the left side of the table.
the 14,400 gcwr is only applicable to the 5.0. 2020 f150 technical specs the limited has a gcwr of 16,700. based on the order guide for 2020 there was only 1 tow package available for the limited. it was package 53A, trailer tow package with pro trailer backup assist. https://www.blueovaltech.com/history...ifications.pdf

So which package is that? Standard towing package or Max? The salesman said I have all the oil coolers (engine, transmission etc), bigger sway bar, bigger tank, etc.

thats the standard package. i dont think you can get max package with the limited, atleast based on ford's site you cant on the 2021. some of those coolers are needed because you have the 3.5 H.O.
Not sure what you mean? There are no stickers anywhere that tell me GCWR.
That's what I mean. It isn't stated clearly and you have to back into it. I use the towing guide to find the right configuration, then along the left side it lists the GCWR.
Below the tire sizes it doesn't give any load ratings? Must be a newer change.
Griz
All you get is the payload/cargo capacity (second image) and the GVWR/axle ratings (first image). Below the first image is what I came up with for my tow ratings based on what I found in the Towing Guide.

I think I did a poor job of telling him my thoughts. I was trying to convey that he was going to run out of payload way before he ran out of towing capabilities.
He may be able to tow a 12k flat trailer and be ok, but a 12k travel trailer would be nearly 1600 lbs of tongue weight to deal with. That's fairly high for an F-150.
He was asking about towing and secondarily payload, and I think I just didn't explain it well enough..
