Trouble codes

Hey folks finally got my truck plugged into forscan and she threw a slew of codes. Priority being the PCM, I got p0603, p0717, and p0715. The last to sound like a sensor, but before I go slinging money anyone got any ideas? The first one also has me concerned

P0603 pops up after pcm has a power loss. So any time the batteries are disconnected you'll get that code. The P0715 and 17, if it was just one of those codes I would say check the sensor but both of them I'd start with wiring. Truthfully though we have no idea how old those codes really are. They could be from this morning or 3 years ago. Your best bet is to record the codes by writing them down or screenshot then clear the codes and see what comes back.

I cleared the codes and installed a new sensor still hitting the same codes I’m new to wiring so what’s the best way to start digging in here

Mark K describes how to check the wires from the sensor to the PCM in this thread:

Is anything not working related to these codes? Is the speedometer working and accurate? Is the transmission shifting smoothly? Is the overdrive light blinking at times on the shift lever? I would not change the PCM if the truck is driving normally.

not even close to normaol. the light does blink, and it wont shift at all. it throws codes 0717 and 0715. just put a fresh sensor in, checked the hearness, and i know its not the TQ cause it doesnt stall out and will idle fairly smoothly.

Alright, what year is your truck? Want to make sure we get the right pinpoint tests/schematics.

You unplugged the PCM, and checked continuity between the PCM connector pin 84, 91 and the appropriate TSS connector pin?

Sounds like you confirmed no short to ground from either of the TSS connector pins.

How about confirming no short to power on either of the TSS connector pins?

its a 2002 250 i unplugged the PCM i have not done the continuity tests for 84, 91 or the TSS. what will those tests confirm? i did to ground to power by running a line to the positive battery cable and checking both ports in the TSS plug.

Ok you're halfway there. Continuity needs to be verified to see if you have an open circuit on either of the 2 wires. Very likely to be the issue at this point.

No problem. With the battery negative cables dissconnected, and the PCM disconnected from the PCM harness (10mm bolt), set your multimeter on ohms, and put one test probe on pin 84 on the PCM connector, and the other on one of the TSS connector pins. There should be continuity between those two points. Repeat for pin 91 on the PCM connector, to the other TSS connector pin.
