Changing a.c low pressure switch
when I began to unscrew the old switch it started to leak what I guess was freon. I immediately tightened it back up. Is this normal? Will I lose all the freon if I go on and remove the switch?

Yes, all the freon will come out. This is under pressure, so don't just unscrew the switch. It needs to be evacuated with a machine.
Is there something wrong with the cycling switch, which is the switch I think you're talking about.

Not sure about that. Most of them I have replaced have a schrader valve in the fitting that the switch screws into. No way to know until you just unscrew it all the way. It should stop unless someone took the guts out of the schrader valve.
