(Oregon climate} My very first diesel, and it seems I have been searching online non stop trying to get her road worthy again ever since. Rather than start 15 new threads for my 60 questions, I will dig into your archives, using proper "forum" etiquette, and try to keep my thread starting to a bare minimum. I know very little, so please go easy on me at first. I am a fast learner. Any advice and or constructive criticism is appreciated.

things I have done so far are...

1) oil and filter change (3 GALLONS!!! )
2) fuel filter changed and bowls siphoned out
3 fresh tank of fuel with hotshot additive
4) new starter






5) fancy new air cleaner from the kids for fathers day!!!

changing e40d transmission fluid filter and gasket next weekend. additive?

A few issues that are currently stumping me are ..
1) Brake pedal stops truck, but needs to be pulled back up by my toe... checked alot of the stuff found here.
2) oil pressure and engine temp gauges on dash not working even after sensors replaced.
3) brand new (el-cheapo) amazon starter is screeching instead of starting randomly 2 weeks after install. ordered another better quality one yesterday hoping i just got a bad one.
4) advice on fluids would really be helpful, I am trying to change them all.

looking good. have patients and don't get in a hurry. a little research and a shop manual will save you lots of time and money. and get your kids out there to help, even the girls. daddy time is important.
