Front Coil Springs

I have the 5200 lb coils. They are ok, a little mushy but nothing to complain about. I’m thinking about a Ranch Hand front bumper, which will add weight to my front end. If I do the Ranch Hand, I’ll swap to the 6,000 lb snow plow coils.

I know this will also raise the front of the truck slightly. Question is would the increase in ride height from 5200 to 6000 coils warrant a sway bar drop, or a track bar relocation, or caster shims, etc?

And to take it a step further, we all know about how the front end on 2020+ sits slightly lower than 2017-2019. If I bought snow plow front springs for a 2019…do you think that extra 1/2” on top of whatever the natural gain is would be enough to throw my front end geometry off?

Ranch Hand Bumper and Front Springs - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums (ford-trucks.com)

Just to give you the abbreviated version. My truck sat as 32.5" on 5600 springs. Added a full Ranch hand bumper and it dropped to 32". I swapped out my 5600# springs for 6000# springs and it brought the nose back up 1/4" if that gives you any idea. I am also running Fox shocks which are a bit stiffer than OEM. Also depends on how the truck is configured as I don't see what you are driving in your signature. In regards to changing out stuff, no you don't need to change out anything as it's all made to run within the parameters of how these trucks come stock. The only thing you might consider is an alignment check.

I ordered the snow plow/camper package on my F250, and of course its a 4x4, so I imagine that it will have the heaviest front coils that it can come with. I managed to find a dealer with the same set up as mine except it does not have the camper package. He sent me photos of the door stickers and it shows the front coils are 5990... so when everyone is saying 6000 # coils, are they actually 6000# or are they 5990 #? Or do they put the 5990 # coils on the 250's and save the 6000 3 coils for the 350's?

I think it is very unlikely that they manufacture 5990 and 6000lb coils. I bet it is very likely the print 5990 and 6000lb stickers.

Sway bar drops are not really even necessary up to around 2" of lift. So no, they are not needed in your scenario. Trac bar relocation also would not be required for such a small difference in ride height. Keep in mind that with all the different engine, spring, trim and cab configurations, factory ride height can vary, yet Ford does not use either of those parts you are wondering about. Many suggest caster correction even on a stock, untouched Super Duty. So you may want to include that in your plan.

It would seem that using a 6000# spring from a 17-19 would provide additional height over the same rate for a 2020+, BUT for whatever reason when I search the coil part# for my 2019 using my VIN or number from my springs, it shows fitment being for 2005-2020. Same when I have searched for other spring rates. It's a bit confusing.
