Codes 32 and 33 ?

1997 Ford F-250 HD 460 engine this truck has 50 k on it and runs great but I need to pass emissions one last time and next year at 25 years old it’s exempt. So what are these codes or more importantly where are the parts that are causing the codes?
thanks for any help

32 EVP - (R) EGR not responding properly during test - EVP
EVR - (O, R, M) EVP signal is/was low - EVR
PFE - (R, M) PFE shows low pressure, EGR not seating or memory, not seating intermittently - PFE

33 ALL - (O, M) EGR did not open/ respond during test or if memory code, did not open intermittently - EVP EVR PFE

There are two way to check codes Key ON Engine OFF KOEO and KOER Key on Engine Running Above (R) means it was checked Running. (O) mean the truck was not running and (M) means a currently inactive code that happend but is not currently active.
You can google the acronyms to find the parts and where located for your engine.

Check your vacuum line to the EGR and EGR control solenoid as the best places to start.

EGR should be on the rear of the intake, driver side and the control valve will be located on a bracket over the rear of the driver side valve cover with other vacuum solenoids.

A 1997 F250HD with Federal emissions will have 3 digit codes. How did you come up with Codes 32 and 33? Count flashes?

I am just using the paper clip trick but with one blind eye I don’t know if it has a connection code like the old chevys give a one one two or 12 three times and then the two didgit codes , as you can tell I’m not a Ford guy it was my dads till he died and now the beast is mine

There is no connection code before it starts flashing active codes.

I’ve owned a few red vehicles and am not a fan. Those are the ones that have moved on. I have to say, that is a very nice truck.

Count the flashes again and keep in mind there will be 3 digit codes displayed. Also be aware there is a single "separator flash" between the end of the Key On Engine Off codes and the beginning of the Stored Code display.

Do yourself a favor and get a code reader. The innova 3145 is cheap and effective.

Uh, isn't '97 OBD-II? I don't think the 3145 would do him any good.

Not necessarily. Then why would he be using the paper clip method to pull codes?

That's why I was asking. As I understood it, 96/97MY trucks should all be OBD-II. I could be wrong. For all I know there's a way to do the paperclip trick with OBD-II, I've never thought to see if it's possible.
