Navigation orentation

Is it possible to change the orientation of the navigation screen so that arrow is always up. That is not always having north being up. This means if I am traveling east then east is the top of the map

Yes. Or I can select north up or direction of travel or 3D view with the view button on my 2015. But then I have the old sync 2 not sure if the newer one has this.

The functionality on SYNC 3 is the same. Pushing on the "arrow" button on the screen should allow you to cycle through a fixed-north orientation, a directional orientation (which orients the map in the direction you are traveling), and a 3D orientation, which also faces the direction you are traveling.

They are correct.
I keep North facing up.
I grew up using maps and it's how I'm accustomed to reading them.

I have a very difficult time with digital maps if they aren't oriented with North on top.

I'm the other way (to each his own I guess). I prefer the digital map to be oriented in the direction I'm going. I figure out N/S/E/W from the compass.

I'm the same if/when I'm using a digital map. Since I don't have nav in my truck I use the phone when needed and then just listen to the commands mostly.

I agree. When I drove ships in the Coast Guard, I always had the radar and navigation system in heads up mode. I was never one to run the North up mode. I’d prefer to see things relative to my position. I do the same thing in my truck.

I have to have "course up" rather than North up, possibly because I'm left handed!

I prefer course up. Easier to follow for me. I do the same with the GPS on my boat, course up.
