Take the plastic collar off that is around the steering column near the cluster. When you move the shifter back and forth, you will see a plastic tube with a string in it. This is what pulls the indicator. Where the string bolts to the column it should be slotted. See if you can loosen the screw and slide it till it reads right. Another problem that happens, someone takes the cluster out and forgets about the tube and the string. They break the tube. You can't get them that I know of. You could possibly repair it of its broken with a piece of tape or shrink tube.
