Vacuum wipers? No problem
My wiper motor wouldn’t reverse, turn it on, it goes up and stops, turn it off, it parks. I bought a batch of wiper motors off eBay and found enough parts to make 3 working motors. Then I made a linkage to run 2 wipers.
As typical with vacuum, they’d stop when you hit the gas. I’ve been caught in the rain twice this spring/summer so I decided to try a vacuum canister. I bought a canister off Amazon for $50 and installed it today. It’s 100 degrees + today so my wife was surprised when she saw me under the hood. I told her I was doing a 10 minute job so I’d be in in about 2 hours. Turned out it took 30 minutes.
No rain today, but I went for a drive. The wipers work as expected at idle and cruising. Accelerating they slow slightly for a short time before they stop, my guess is I was able to drive 1/4 mile or so accelerating before they slowed significantly, another 100 yards or so before they stopped. Dramatically different than when hooked directly to the manifold.
