Wanting to go ahead and order a drawbar for our 21 f250 cc sb 4x4 before it shows up to dealer. What size drop does everyone recommend. Looking at either the b&w or rapid hitch. Not sure if it should be the 4in or 6in drop. Both would be the adjustable ones. B&w offer 3in shank so I don't have to use the reducer sleeve but rapid hitch is a 2 1/2in shank. With son duramax thats got a 6in lift on 35s we had to order a 10in drop to pull my boat. Any suggestions would be helpful.
The manufacturer of the hitch likely recommends a minimum clearance to the ground from the bottom of the hitch. You may want to read their documentation.
My 2021 F350 required a 6” drop according to the Bullet Proof recommendation based on measurements from the bottom of the receiver to the ground. That allowed 10” of clearance.

I'm still trying to determine what I'll need as well when ordering the Bullet Proof hitch. Some say the 8" drop, but it also depends on the height of the trailer you're hauling. I'm hoping the 6" will do because I want the tailgate to clear the hitch when the tailgate is dropped. Does the 6" allow the tailgate to drop if the hitch is in the up position?
Also, to the OP, I discovered prior to ordering a 2022 F350 with the 7.3 gas engine that I had to go to a dually to get the 3" receiver. The tongue weight on the trailer I have on order is 2000 lbs, and only the 3" receiver is rated for 2000 lb's of tongue weight. Just an FYI.
Ordered the 250 with the high capacity towing package. So it get the 350 rear axle overload left springs and 3in hitch
I'd go for the 3" hitch then. Less slop than if using a reducer. Also, Bullet Proof sells an adapter if you decide to get a weight distribution hitch like the Equalizer.

what I have read it should come with the 2 1/2 reducer. The 2 1/2 would come with the 2in reducer.. brother in laws 350 dully came with both reducers think his is a 2017 or 18

I’m pretty certain Bullet Proof temporally stopped the sales other weight distribution hitch adapter due to some issues other people are having.

I've read that as well, but I'd prefer to have the proper fit rather than have to use a reducer.
