well, the stang has 190 hp and 220 torque. It also weighs 3000 lbs. I'm guessing your truck weighs about 1500 more lbs. than the stang but you also prolly have about 100 more hp and torque (just a guess there......) I think it would be a good race just because the stang is a lot lighter and more aerodynamic than your truck. Now of course if you had a towing contest........................

this is sort of what i was thinking. as for bouncing im not sure what you mean there. my #1 problem is going to be traction off the line. im gonna peel out majorly off the line. i know the stang will peel out too but it won't be near as much. so it sort of can go anyway simply because its so much lighter. well ill find out tonight anyway. im racing my friends stang if hes still upfor it.
he won by about 2 car lengths. hard to judge sense we did this at night. we used a straight section of road for our strip. three bridges span the road and the lenght is estimated to be about a quarter mile. anyway we went on the 3rd honk. after he honked the third time i hesitated a second because he didn't floor it like i thought he would. he floors it and i was screwed at that point but i went anyway. funny thing, i actually caught him and held with him for a bit before my trucks limited speed caught up with me. accel wise i had him beat though. not bad for a truck that ways almost twice as much as his car.
well with my old truck ( 2002 F250 V10 Automatic 3.73's ) i first got ahead of a mustang 5-speed 4.6 liter off of the line, then he cut me off when i hit 3rd gear. i was ahead of him for a while though!
Not to jack the thread. But back in HS my friends and I "borrowed" a 300 foot tape measure from school. Went out to a bare farm road. Marked off 1320 feet and had our strip.
Bad thing was we had a drag strip about 10 miles away. Still was good for some late night grudge matches.
Not too shabby Modru. Just think at the drags you could be even closer. Thats if you had a track.
It's a V6 mustang that he's racing though. I know the stock V6 Mustang (2000 and lower) models run mid 16's bone stock. I "think" the 2003 V6 Mustang is about a half second faster. The Mustang should win between 2 and 4 lengths.
Here is another thing...is the mustang a 5 speed or an Automatic...big difference there.

That sucks.
my engine is a tad different than what your thinking of. mines the cobra 351 without the gt 40 intake basicly. i smoke him accel wise. but he maxed out his speed almost. he hit 110 when we raced. my truck can't go that high, thats why i lost. mines not the 87 ho like your thinking. this is an 88 not an 87. the 351 ho as your refering to was not used past 87. and it did not have efi.
