I have a 74 f250 4x4 highboy that I am installing a 78-79 power steering box and front axle with disk brakes.
I bought a plate kit from ebay but how do I know where to drill the holes. I assume that to far forward or back and the box will not be centered.
Any specs out there.
Its a Saturday afternoon, most of us are out working on our trucks and not checking the forum. Give it more than 2 hours and you’ll probably give it a response.

The kit on Ebay with the four flat pieces and the spacers? Where did you cut the notch?
I did not cut anything yet, looking for info on the cuts and where to mount the bolt hole plate, or should I install the 79 disk brake axle first the take a rough guess...hmmm

Shouldn't need a rough guess, if you bought the kit I referred to above one of the plates is used as a depth gauge for the notch.
I see you are also installing the front axle. What are you going to use for the drag link? When I did mine to keep the geometry right I had to install a 3" steering block as I couldn't find a Ford raised steering arm. I made the drag link using GM the rods and sleeve.
Here is the steering block, note it's Ford specific.
when I bought the axle and box the guy said everything is there for the swap, it looked like the frame crossmember was already cut, but was a botched up job.
I did not see that block but it has the drag link with the parts. I wanted to do it right with the plate kit

The drag link won't work in your highboy. To get the steering steering arm in plane with the pitman arm you will need a block.
