Hey Digger thanks for the response, I have definetely done that before but just for some logging here is the setup of the presser and the result of beating the crap out of the protrusion with a 4lb hammer. Sorry to sound non-thankful for your responses everybody, i have spent 4 days on this and i have to drive this thing to work in 2 so im definetely rushing to get this thing out.

Are you sure you have clearance between the balljoint tapered stud and the puller on the bottom? In other words, is the spacer tall enough on the bottom? It may be bottoming out. If you have a sawzall, you could cut the tapered stud off the old balljoint to give you room. With the setup below, it should come out.

Thanks Dave will try that now. should be since the cup has a hole through it on the bottom.

UPDATE: it has wayyy more than enough room on the bottom hole for the thredded strud to go through so nope that is not the issue.

Do you have heat like was mentioned previously? I would load that press as much as I could put on it, heat the area around the stuck part, even if it was just a propane torch, and then get a large hammer and with lots of tension on the press, start beating on the end of the hex on the press on top to shock it. Beat on it some, tighten it some more, beat on it some more, heat it more..... A lot of tension plus the shock of the hammer should make it move. You can also wack on the edges of the knuckle like was explained in a previous post. That makes the kuckle take on a momentary egg shape and can break it free. But always keep lots of tension on it during all this beating with the hammer.

Looks like you're doing good, just have one stuck worse than I have encountered. If I had done all that you have, I'd go for the heat at this point. But I have oxy acetylene to bring to bear.

Damn, might be time to take it to a shop.

You can remove the arms and take just them into a shop or machine shop, see post # 416

You will never ever hammer the joint out all will do is beat stuff to all to crap. Since you do not have a oxy torch to heat the arm your best bet now is to pull the arm and take to shop that has a press and they can press it out.

A welding shop machine shop or your local mechanic all should have a press a welding shop or well-outfitted machine shop will likely have the highest tonnage press.
