Since purchasing my 2020 F-250 XLT 7.3 gasser I have been thoroughly happy. None of the many little nuisances that some people report or even the more major. The truck was purposely bought mainly to haul our travel trailer when we go camping. It is a weekend warrior at best the rest of time.
That said, state your year of 7.3 gasser and any issues you have had or even not.
Do you only drive downhill? How the hell do you get 16.7mpg? I'm at like 13 unloaded. Haven't towed yet.
If I am doing mainly open road driving I will get about 16.5 and even more. However, I notice after I add that stop and go and short runs it drops to about 13.8 to 14 mpg unloaded…lol
Maybe GLR has a secret he would like to share if that is truly mixed driving! LOL
2020 F250 CCSB STX/FX4 7.3/3.55 Sold this month with 7,200 miles. 75% towing 7500# travel trailer. Loved this truck, zero issues. Its 2022 big brother F350 is on order with a 7/26 production date. Waiting impatiently.
Curious, anyone running ethanol free gas solely or the ole standard el crappo 87 from most stations?
I did some testing with E0 on a long road trip, it increased mpg a very small amount, not worth the extra $.50 a gallon. 87oct seems to work just fine, in the hills/mountains I do sometimes flirt with + and Premium but can't really tell any difference.
2021 F450 CC 4.88 gears w/ 19.5 tires. 8k miles
No issues, (except 82 mph speed limiter due to tire speed, that is "fixed" now). Best mileage w/ 87 E10 is 11.0, average 7.6 pulling 12k # high profile 5th wheel RV. Love the truck!
2021 F250 XLT CCSB 7.3 3.55 gears with 5000 miles of mostly towing a 7600# trailer without a single issue, pulls in the mountains effortlessly.
When not towing, consistently see 17.5 mpg on highway and in the 10's towing.
I've disregarded the windshield recall......gotta believe a front on collision is gonna hurt regardless.
Do you only drive downhill? How the hell do you get 16.7mpg? I'm at like 13 unloaded. Haven't towed yet.
I got 16.6mpg on my trip from Atlanta to Nashville last weekend. That's with a 2" level and 35"s. So actually did a bit better than the computer says. I stayed on cruise control @ 65mph (actual around 67 based on gps), and missed all the stop and go traffic.
On the way back I ran about 78mph on cruise (right around 81 actual) and did 13.4mpg on the screen.
You guys with 3.55's how are you liking it? I have a 2022 on order with 7.3 and 4.30's and it has yet to be scheduled for production. I found one exactly like mine but with 3.55's and I'm wondering if I should just get that now or wait for my 2022. Its an XL trim with STX and Power Equipment so nothing too special.
