Came across this one in my neck of the woods today... https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/ank/ctd/d/dayton-1966-ford-f100-ranger-long-box/7334813352.html
Looks decent on the exterior sheet metal, but some questionable stuff underneath. In the one pic you can see they just hacked off the outer (typically rusty) end of the passenger side cab support.
Then you can see they bolted on either steel or rubber from midpoint passenger floor forward to either fix a rusty cab mount or (if it’s just a piece of rubber) to create a makeshift inner fender of sorts to protect the cab mount from crap coming off the wheel.
Would be interesting to crawl around under that one for sure! And to hear the salesman try to explain away what’s there!
Lawd Have Mersay, Interesting how all FEs become 390s on sale day, 50+ yr old truck with 10,201.4 miles. They start new after 99,999.9. The bench seat still looks great too, just to name a few.
Mileage in ad's info on RH side of screen shows: odometer: 110201, we all know they roll over @ 99,999..........
Bench seat?? look again.
Here's the interior pic from the ad, buckets & console
But, no pic of the warranty plate, which would clear up any doubt one way or the other if it is actually a legitimate RANGER, or a Custom Cab that someone added buckets to......my guess is cloned?
And yah, the 352 vs 390 saga continues

The console is a tough one to clone. While similar to the Falcon Sprint console how it is cut along the bottom edge varies between the automatic and manual trucks and is different than the Falcon Sprint.
Besides the floor board and cab support that we can see having had surgery there are a couple more things I noticed in the pictures they provided. The tailgate is the newer 1967-1972 style with the different lettering, etc. and might have some rust in it. Also, after serial number 696,001 (June 1965) the accelerator assembly was changed to the newer C5TZ-9725-Z floating gas pedal. This truck has the gas pedal bolted to the floor like pre-June 1965 trucks. But is it bolted to the floor or just sitting there? Something seems amiss with that. Buyer beware might not be a bad mantra in this case.
While we all say it's a nice looking truck, we may never know if it's a true "Ranger" As mentioned the tailgate is not original to the truck.
The front bumper is not original. There are signs of damage to the front end. Driver side of hood doesn't line up. It sits up not allowing trim pieces to flow straight.
Damage to fenders from bumper impact.
The Rock guard is not straight, further evidence of front end damage.
The grille does not sit right.
I see in one picture a bolt that looks like for the seat, if so I don't see the square plate that the "Ranger seats" were mounted with.
I know there's more, but I don't want people thinking I'm hating on the truck.
