So I am going to be doing, plugs, wires, cap and rotor. Are there any particular tips or tricks getting to the plugs, or is it fairly straight forward? Anything I should just go ahead and remove right away for access? I have an 89 250 with a 460.
I find it easier to get the passenger side plugs out from underneath. Usually too much emission tubes to get them from above. I have also had good luck going in through the passenger side wheel well. There is a small gap between the frame and inner fender assembly. A long extension or two with a swivel works well.

Thanks, I will take off the passenger tire to start off with.
Don't trust the plug gap out of the box. Recheck the gap for .044. Label plug wires so they are put back in in order and on the dist,.cap and try not to cross any wires. Putting a piece of rubber hose on the plug tip helps from dropping the old plugs when removing and for not dropping or cross threading the new ones to start them.

Thanks, I like that idea. I already looked up the firing order and cylinder numbers just in case

If the plugs have been in for a while, try to tighten them first. This helps to break up any issues of them corroding to the heads. Then loosen them. A trick i have learned over the years on many different motors.
