For a better America we should lose all the conservitive and liberal labels and get on with the bussiness of getting the economy back on track. Both sides need to stop thier complaining and realize there is little to no difference between the two.

Now just hold on a minute.
What exactly are you guys complainin' about? I mean specific stuff, not liberal vs conservative gibberish. Like, do you want do away with ...? You want... to do what? Be specific, maybe we can all jump on and support the cause. Calling each other names just makes all of us mad and wastes bandwidth.

OK, Joe you're the loudest. What do you want us to do? Who do we need to talk to to get it done?

Pinnin' labels doesn't get it handled.

I agree with Kenny. The "conservative" and "liberal" labels are about as meaningful as "bloods & crips" or "Hatfields & McCoy's". Labels like these seem designed to ignore one side of an issue and get down to the true business of "us vs. them".

For example, is it better to be a "tax & spend" liberal, or a "spend & deficit" conservative? Aren't they BOTH spending money they don't have?

I believe that the United States is defined by the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, not any one political party, administration, or arbitrary set of labels.

As for specific complaints, how about the "Patriot Act"?

How about stop sending money to countrys that don't need it, don't send money to fight aids in africa, stop rewarding single mothers for having more kids, reduce the size of the government, get rid of nearly all gun laws, and stay the #$%% out of my business. I shouldn't need a permit to cut down a tree, shoot an animal or build a garage on property THAT I OWN.

Now we're talkin'. Next question- how do we keep the little girl next door from gettin' preggers? One reasonable idea might be the birth control implant when she signs up for welfare. 'Course that ignores that it takes two to make babies. The sperm donor needs to be identified and held responsible. Although, being a cold-blooded SOB, I don't really object to the baby starvin' if no one can pay for food (I'm serious).

As to foreign aid, the whole idea of foreign aid is to make them dependent on us so they do what we want. Pretty unhealthy way to run a world.

As for gun laws, I think we should need a license or somethin' similar to buy 'em. That's just to keep the punk gang bangers being able to buy quite as easy. Enforce the laws we have now. Hurt someone with a firearm when they don't deserve it, lose your liberty. Otherwise, I agree, it ain't anybody's business what I have in my gunrack.

Shootin' animals- well they ARE ours, and I figure I should have some say in who, when, how many, and where. Otherwise you're gonna' have these jokers out hunting great racks and leaving the meat to rot.

Cuttin' trees? There should be some of regulatin' how the trees are cut so they don't end up on your neighbors house. Garages, safety inspection so the guy who buys your property doesn't buy a deathtrap. That was the original idea behind permits, but has definitely gotten out of hand.

And, ah, the Patriot act. Can you say KGB? Ashcroft wants to make it possible to arrest us on his say alone for being a "terrorist", and he gets to identify what one is. If that is not infringing on "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness", what is?
The guy is dangerous to us. And the fact that his friends get to out CIA operatives (some of whom we are or were friends with) and hide behind Dubya's coat frosts my cookies. A great advertisement for less government. Not that the opposing political party has anything better to offer ...

I live on a 200 acre farm, want to clear 10 acres for horse pasture, have to get permit.

Deer eat EASILY $50-$70K of crops each year. Have to go through permit process, can't use weapons that would work the best. Night Vision with Silencer would work the best. Deer herds are out of control, pretty soon i firmly believe they will be like the kangaroos of AUS.

That welfare idea was very similar to one i thought of the other day. I like your idea alot.

There should be no licensing of legal gun owners. There should be a list of prohibited gun owners. Go buy a gun, your name gets cross checked with the list of prohibited owners. And you are only prohibited if you have been convicted of using a firearm in the commision of a crime. None of this Bull about becoming a felon for a fist fight or evading taxes. None of this bull, if someone files a restraining order against you, you get your firearm RIGHTS taken away without due process and with out a trial. Silencers should be unrestricted. Same with machine guns. Since 1934, one crime has been committed with a registered machine gun and that was a police officer that was paid as a hitmen. I should be able to put a folding stock on my rifle or do anything else i want to.
Hell, call me crazy, i think if I have a couple million dollars laying around i should be able to buy a tank to ride around my farm.

WHAT PART OF SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED DO THESE PEOPLE NOT UNDERSTAND?

Okay, I agree with virtually all that. The state wildllife department can issue special permits to either do away with or chase deer off your property, that is federal reg. I stand fast on my contention that Bambi belongs to the people of the state, and unrestricted shooting at Bambi is a bad plan. I think firearm buyers should have to certify on some firearm safety issues AND not be on the bad guy list. I agree that licensing firearm ownership is bad. I simply think restraint on who can buy a bazooka at the corner store is appropriate.

I also think that Bambi deserves a fair chance to get away. Specifically: sitting in a stand is unsporting, ambush is murder not sport. Scopes are unfair except for spotting, it ain't sport to be able to plink a deer at 800 yards with your 23 power scope and laser sights. No, I'm most assuredly NOT anti-hunting, I just believe in fair play. As for folding stocks, who cares? It ain't my business. I am ambivalent on full-autos, but referring to my statement of fair play, who needs 'em? Ammo ain't cheap and most people can't control a full-auto, that makes them a public menace. While I was in the Corps, a guy got plinked in the head a mile from the range due to a stray round. So, I feel that full-auto's should be restricted. I think you probably stand by my contention that giving up my firearms is tantamount to surrendering to the bad things in our world and serves no purpose beside tyranny.

I agree with everything you say here, except for the part where you say that the opposing party has nothing to offer. They do--an administration without Ashcroft.

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

This oath is very specific--protecting the Constitution is the primary responsibility of the President of the United States. And yet Bush appointed Ashcroft, who arguably poses the greatest threat to the United States Constitution since Senator Joe McCarthy. I find this disturbing.

The second amendment says nothing about need. Nothing at all about that. If i have money to buy ammo, who cares? Many many F/A guns are very conrollable. It is people like you who think we only "need" certain guns, that are destroying the 2nd. The anti-gunners won't stop until every gun is rounded up and torched.
I should be able to use what ever is effective to shoot "bambi".
"Bambi" is killing people every day. Reducing the population is not about being "sporting" it's about killing the deer. They have no natural predator hear and most other places, there are far too few natural predator to take care of them.

Oh yeah, want to stop tyranny? Then you will need firearms that are equal or superior to the military's. Think they can't/won't be called in against civilians? Ever heard of Waco? or Ruby Ridge?

We need a senate and a congress to work together. If they dont we need to vote them out of office and elect people who can get things done. We dont need the NRA when our elected officials have common sence. This isnt rocket science. If you dont vote, dont be surprised when the take all your rights away.
