Intermittant Brake Problem

I am towing an enclosed trailer with electric brakes and use a prodigy brake controller. The truck is a 2000 250sd. I have the oem harness, relays and fuses. On the prodigy I am receiving an nc code (not connected) but sometimes the brake controller starts working. Trailer connections seem OK. I spliced the 7 pin connector into the factory wiring harness. Also I am not receiving auxillary power or charging power. Tried using a multi meter on the brake pin in the harness with the brake applied but got no reading. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Try the multi meter on the brake pin again, but instead of putting your foot on the brake, manually activate the Prodigy with the little lever on the front. I am assuming that you followed the instructions that came with the Prodigy on how to dial in the setting for your rig. If you still don't get any voltage reading, then unplug the Prodigy and test the pos and neg terminals on the plug for voltage. Also make sure your trailer has a good ground through the plug and not through the hitch.

Just an Idea.

I ran into the same thing and found that the 7 pin connector was pullout of the plug. I now tie wrap the two together. Problem gone. I am going to replace the main plug. The spring door on the plug has broken. Just havn't had the time yet.
Just an Idea on where to look.
