Does anyone know the best place to purchase an affordable O2 sensor? have a '93 F150 with 5.0 and it is a 4 wire sensor. I've seen universal type.. would they work if they are 4 wire? thanks, KS
Autozone, Kragen/Checker, Pepboys chains are normally the places to shop for common tuneup parts like O2 sensors. Usually, one for a Ford is as cheap as the universal one and you dont have to mess with splicing wires.
How do you know yours is bad? Bosch, for one, tries to sucker the public into replacing them every 30,000 miles! Unless you have failed an emissions test or have a check engine light, it is probably ok. If you are getting 12-15 mpg and that has not suddenly changed, it is not the O2 sensor. That is normal poor mileage for a 5.0 in a truck.
