I got the 2021

My 2015 F-150 served me well, but when it started throwing a cam code at 170k it was time to consider a trade out. It was a bad time to get rid of the 2015; I just installed new drilled and slotted front rotors and carbon ceramic pads all the way around, new tires and its first tune up. It was a bad time to get a replacement because the dealers have a shortage of inventory. An Atlanta dealer had just received delivery of three new F150s the night before my call. He says they won't get anymore until September. They got an sts(?) loaded Lariat, a Platinum and a King Ranch. I got the cheap one.

The healthily optioned antimatter blue Platinum is now in my driveway. It is one beautiful truck. Several of my friends and contractors that I work with really recommended the 250 as I tow about 8-10k pounds of vintage car in an enclosed trailer. Other friends of mine that work on diesels suggested the little amount of towing I did, didn't warrant the 250. Sure it tows better they said, but I only towed that weight for about 20,000 miles of the 170,000 on the 2015 F-150. It did fine, though I was the last one up the hill sometimes.

I'm currently having a couple minor problems with the truck, I still have to plug my phone into the truck for Apple Play access, I should be able to do it via Bluetooth. Since the dealer has so few of these trucks, they still don't have broad expertise in the functions of the truck and they can't teach me much. All in all, the best feature they kept from my 2015 was the comfortable seat design. It sure beats the park bench feel of the competitors truck seat.

Congrats on your new F150.

I hope it gives you many trouble free years and miles of service.

LOL….I’m sure you were being sarcastic when you said you got the cheap one.

The new F150‘s have wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto so I’m sure you just have a setting in the wrong position or something else that’s very simple. I’m sure you know this but don’t forget that you also have wireless charging in your Platinum so if you have an iPhone X or newer, you should be good to go.

I just bought my wife a 2021 F150 Lariat in Antimatter Blue earlier this week. We have not been able to connect using the FordPass app and was told this afternoon that I need to take it into the dealership to have them plug it in and clear the codes. Apparently they did a FordPass update earlier this week and it has caused some issues. Other than that, we absolutely love the truck and if it were not for my need to have a lot of payload to haul my slide in truck camper, I would be driving one of these as well.
Congratulations on your new truck!
