I was at a moving sale 2 days ago and they were selling everything cheap .they just wanted to get rid of everything ,no matter what. they were moving into an apartment .they had a shed that looked like a hoarders nightmare. you had to dig threw a big pile.it almost looked like someone backed up with a dump truck and unloaded it. i found these 3 saws .he said $ 5 for all 3. i jumped on it ,then i found a real nice 20 ft extension ladder that he forgot that he had ,how much for that ? he said i cant use it where i am going so give me $10 then i found a brand new biscuit cutter (the ones that wood workers use ) $5 and it is yours .i hurried up and put everything everything in my truck .i was the first one there .now everyone is coming .it is now like a bees nest with people .before i left i guy bought a craftsman table top saw on a stand it worked great ,the guy the guy paid $30 for it .
Not to shabby at all. You bought all three for about half the cost of the short bow saw blade.
Is that a 4' or 6' cross cut blade? That tooth pattern is good for soft or hardwood. Now you need a nice set of handles, and a place to hang it on the wall.
it is a 6ft blade. i was thinking about putting on the wall just way it is, but now that mentioned it i think that i will have my friend that is a wood worker (he makes just about anything) having him make me a nice set of handles before i hang it up.
Sweet, but it takes 2 muscular guys and a lot of beer to make it run
Have to sing lumberjack songs too. That thing would put me in the hospital today.
I know where there is one of those stuck in the middle of a tree. It had been there about 30-40 years at the time so completely healed over. Poor guy started cutting down a tree, went back to the house for lunch and died. Supposedly a few years later it was noticed and they left it there as a sort of tribute.

My dad showed me one in the same position in southern Ontario, I don't remember the story behind it though..

The guys family was my running buddy in HS. I wish they still owned the property. I'd like to see it again though it is probably nearly completely consumed by the tree by now. It was a good six feet off the ground so I wondered if he was standing in the back of a truck or wagon and cutting a pole for an out building or something. Curious in any case.

They look good on the wall. I paid quite a bit more but it did have handles.
i took it over to my buddies house today to have him make me some handles for it .yes they do look good on the wall .i think that i am going to leave it just way it is .i wiped down all the dirt and some of the surface rust with a 0000grit steel wool
Mine had a small hole on each end of the blade near the handle. I just put some screws through there and painted them to match the rust shade of the blade.
