I was working on my engine build and was spinning the oil pump with a drill, to check flow, at the rockers. With the pump spinning and turning the crank with a socket, I am not getting oil flowing to #2 intake rocker. #1 exhaust seams a little less than the rest, which are getting a lot of oil. What should I check, or should I even be worried, at this point? I use another rocker cover with the top cut out, so I can prevent any oil spills.
Try to isolate the source of the problem.
1. Remove the rocker arm and see if oil will come out the end of the pushrod. If no, swap in a different pushrod and retry. If oil, replace or clean pushrod.
2. swap in a different lifter and retry. If no oil pressure still, there is a problem elsewhere in the oiling system (I doubt it). If there is oil the original lifter is likely defective. Replace lifter.
