So since I've been wanting a new truck for sometime now, I keep doing things to mine that makes me still want to keep it and avoid the new payment. Cant believe I had so much chrome for so long
Why do people dislike chrome so much?
All these folks driving by with nice new trucks and they're got colour matched mirrors, rims, grilles, bumpers etc... Why? it just looks like this blob when it's all one colour.
On the white truck the black does look nice though, I would like to somehow get the ford Emblem back in the grille if it were me but yours looks good.
Cause chrome sucks. It ALWAYS need to be cleaned/polished to look good if you actually drive the vehicle, and if it's not regularly maintained it'll eventually rust and/or peel. If it gets scratched or dented it's not easily repairable, you cant just buff out a scratch in chrome ...and, again, it'll eventually rust and/or peel. If it's chrome on plastic. it's eventually going to get thin, or stained, or blotchy...and probably peel. It's a distraction in traffic when you get blinded because the whole front of the on coming truck is a giant mirror. Too much chrome screams "HEY, EVERYONE, LOOK AT ME, I NEED ATTENTION!!!!" and draws that attention from people you want it from along with people you don't.
As you can tell, chrome isn't my thing. Some polished stainless trim is ok, but only if it's a subtle accent.
