hard to start

I just joined the psd family with a 00 350 7.3 love it
I think it cranks just a little to long , cold warm it does not matter. I wait to start , it just does not start easy. Is it just something I need to live with or do I need to look for something.

tks in advance for any help

Could be glow plugs or your glow plug relay, took mine to the dealer because it was on warranty (100,000 mile) they replaced both. Only sad part was deductible of 100$ . Good Luck!

If it is not the glow plugs or relay, check the oil level in the high pressure oil pump and see if it is leaking down. duece

My 94 PSD did the same thing. Checked glow plugs, and the high oil pressure pump. Mine turned out that my starter was wore out and not turning the engine over quick enough. So it could be batterys or a starter also.

How long does it actually take to start? PSD's take longer to start than Cummins due to the injectors requiring oil pressure to fire.
