I pretty much had my mind set on ordering a Ranger. Had one all priced out just waiting to place the order. January 19th I was looking through my local dealers inventory. They only had a couple Rangers so I looked at the F-150's. They had 20 left over 2020 models and I found one I liked a Silver FX-4 XLT with all the options I would have ordered. They were marked way down. I got mine for $39612 plus tax of course which was a bit less than the Ranger I was going to order so I bought it instead.
I really like the Ranger it is a really nice looking truck. There are two things I don't like the 18 gallon fuel tank and the non electric sliding rear window. I have a feeling that in time the rear window will be electric. My biggest dislike is the fact that Ford only put an 18 gallon fuel tank and no option for a larger one. My F-150 has the 36 gallon tank so I am not filling up every week. In my opinion the Ranger should have at least a 21 gallon tank or 24 preferred. Hopefully when the next Ranger comes out it will have a larger fuel tank. Then I would strongly consider purchasing one.
If Ford is listening I hope they do put a larger tank in the next model.
Just curious. Those of you who currently own the new Ranger are you happy with the size of the fuel tank or would you rather have a truck with a larger tank.
If this Ranger was only getting 15 mpg (like my last one), then I would definitely want a larger tank. But with 21 mpg, I'd say that 18 gal is adequate. A larger tank would be appreciated, but it's not a deal breaker.

Glad you are happy with your truck. No matter how I slice it the 18 gallon tank is just to small for me. I drive 210 miles a week just going back and forth from home to work. I don't want to have to fill up more than once a week at the minimum unless I am on a trip. Hopefully the next Ranger will have a larger fuel tank.
My wife and I went on a long road trip last month. From Missouri to Arizona, California, Idaho, Yellowstone and then back to Missouri. It averaged out to just under 25 mpg. 2020 Ranger sport 4x4 eco boost. I love this truck!
