I have a 1977 ford F250 custom and im needing to know a few things about the power steering system note the hoses were removed and thrown away before I owned the truck thank you
1. where can I find decent set of new lines
2. where does the pressure line and the return line go on the steering box and pump
I would go to your local Napa dealer. If they were removed I would suspect a problem or contamination with the entire system. You might not like the price to replace all the critical parts. Don't scrimp on the vital things needed to fix this. Nothing more important than brakes and steering.
im actually restoring the truck so I have a new steering box and steering pump sadly the last owner started the process of rebuilding it and threw away the lines
but I will check out Napa I also remembered about lmc truck and I found a few on there
The Ford Truck Shop Manual contains much information on power steering that you may find helpful. It's in the volume on "Chassis" (Vol. 1)(Group 13). Try to get one for 1977.

2WD or 4WD? If 4WD, there are 2completely different types of P/S systems, it depends on when the truck was assembled.
#1: 1977 F250 4WD "High Boy" assembled before serial number Y20,001: Bendix Power Assist P/S: Has a control valve and hydraulic ram cylinder, uses 4 different P/S hoses, 2 short and 2 long.
#2: 1977 F250 4WD assembled from serial number Y40,001. Has Ford integral P/S that requires 2 hoses.
X2 about any big box auto parts store like Napa, AutoZone, O'Reily's, should have them. Even Rock Auto, but returning incorrectly ordered lines can be a PITA, at least if you get them at a parts you can walk back in and return or exchange.
And yes 2wd or 4wd, post the vi# and ND will let you know just what you need.
