FYI for those interested.
I replaced my distributor with an after market that omits the cap riser and since the oil pump rod is hex, the new one wasn’t lined up. By myself I had no one to bump the engine so I took my telescopic magnet and was able to lift it turn and the distributor seated perfectly the first time
