Alot of us have had issues with the cowl vent not closing properly using the aftermarket seal that is available today. It seems to stiff?
I have had it assembled for months and months with pressure on it, heavy objects etc. I finally called (the weight soultion) a failure, and decided to fix it once and for all.
I decided on cutting the seal up, going from a double walled seal to a single wall seal. Hence cutting the inside wall away.
Nice job..... big question, does it leak? I did something similar on my 49 F1 but it didn't work.
I will give an update after this summer 👍😉
However it still has quite some tension on it, and seems in contact all the way around. It's also glued to the body. If that's not enough I will add a 3 mm closed cell foam, self adhesive insulation on the underside of the cowl vent. Very flexible and durable, Used as insulation tejp on ac units....
