Back in a Ranger

Traded in the 2018 F250 KR 6.7L this past Wednesday.
I took a look at KBB.com, couldn't believe the numbers I was seeing. Figured I could trade it in on an XL or XLT Ranger, bank the extra cash and drive a small truck for awhile until the shortages end and I can order a truck that would take 5 weeks instead of 5 months to arrive. Anyway found this at a southern Maryland dealer:

Trade in offer on the 250 was $64901...about $500 dollars less than the base price when I bought it in 2018. So I got this Ranger and a check for $20K. Not too shabby.

Great job on the trade! I'm actually starting to warm up to the rangers now a bit.

Very nice! I always did like the new Ranger so I'm glad to see that it's starting to catch on more. It appears you got a Tremor too, sweet! And as you mentioned, the price difference between a King Ranch F-250 and a Ranger is quite significant so you can bank that extra $20k and put it towards another Super Duty in the future and still have enough to toss into an IRA or something.
I don't where you live and what the difference between regular gasoline and diesel fuel is where you live but where I live diesel can often be as much as 70-80 cents per gallon above regular gasoline.

Thanks. Seeing as the F250 was 23 days outside of the 3/36 bumper to bumper and the AC quit working, worked in the morning, didn't in the afternoon it all worked out well. I don't know if the dealer checked the AC before the offer, the appraiser was only out there for a minute or two. I rolled up w/the widows down and the cooled seats on and the HVAC off.

I looked at the dealers website and they had my old truck listed for $10K more than they gave me, that was over the MSRP sticker price. Looked at the website the next day, truck was gone.

I'm in Maryland, between Baltimore and D.C. My commute isn't very far and I usually fill up every two weeks...I've never really paid attention to prices. I know diesel was over $3/gallon when I traded in...and I think regular gas was at $2.99 when I filled up the other day....it's been a bit crazy w/the whole pipeline shutdown that happen a week or so ago, a lot of stations were out of all types of fuel for a few days.

The Ranger is fun to drive...I've had a few in past, '84 regular cab, '88 scab, '94 regular cab splash and a '98 scab splash...all manuals. But coming from an F250 this Ranger is like driving a go cart. I don't have to do an 11 point turn to back into my driveway.

The extra money, some of it, went towards my wife's new car which we ordered back in late Feb21 and picked up this past Wednesday...2021 Audi Q3...two new cars in 7 days, at least only one of them carries a loan.

As far as I can tell the only option I don't have is the tow package, but that would have deleted the tow hooks in the rear, and I can add a receiver and still keep the hooks. The dealer had a Rhino spray in bed liner locally installed and they stuck on the keyless entry, I know I put the card with code inside the house, but now I can't find it. Oh well...$98 I can get another one.
