Who has replaced their body mounts and what kit or parts did you use? I am looking online and parts and prices are all over the place. I need to replace mounts in a 2011 F350 crew cab. I want to do the job once and forget about it. I see a lot of Dorman parts out there but I am not a fan of Dorman. I try to avoid their parts as much as I can.
I replaced my mounts a few months ago with SBS mounts. These mounts are pricey but way better than the stock mounts and better than any aftermarket mounts too! Lots of good reviews and info on the web. Made my truck ride like it was brand new again.
I replaced 8 cab mounts on my 13 CC with the Dorman bushings for something like $400. They are shockingly well made, much better than whatever that foam crap the Ford bushings are made from which disintegrates.
I'm not keeping the truck forever, maybe two more years and did not want any of the hassles like harsh ride or squeaks I've read with polyurethane mounts. The S&B silicone mount kit seems very nice, I just didn't feel like spending the money on it.
Here's the thread if you want to see any photos. It wasn't that bad of a job to do with a jack and some blocking in the garage, just made me nervous more than anything. The front two captive nuts spun when I took those mounts out, which wasn't too big a deal as I just took the grille and headlights out to access the nuts with a 30" breaker bar and socket. The captive nuts inside the cab fortunately did not spin when removing or installing the mounts. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...ab-mounts.html
I used the S&B stuff. Install it in my garage and it took maybe 2 hours from the time we got tools out until the time we put them up. It helped quite a bit having my 17 year old son giving me a hand.
The S&B kit is a great kit. I do plan on keeping my truck quite a bit longer.
