Rack and Pinion steering

Has anyone tried or done installing rack and pinion steering on a 56 f100 with dropped axle?

Many companies offer kits such as CPP. I beverage the racks are from a thunderbird most times

The first thing i did to my 56 when i bought it was REMOVE the steering rack setup that had been fitted to it's original axle .
Our engineers here in Australia deemed it as unsafe and not fit for the road .

My apologies as I read that incorrectly. Thought you were going to an IFS with a rack didn't realize you were trying to with the I-beam front axle

Same here. My 51 came with an aftermarket bolt on system that I removed and converted back to stock. The system was by No Limits Engineering, who discontinued this system after about a year in production.

I didn't like it, and I guess the manufacturer didn't either.
