2008 Expedition Driver's Side Mirror Replacement

Nothing like waking up on a Sunday morning to find someone side wiped the Expedition and took off the driver's mirror... After sweeping up the glass and counting my blessings my 71' F250 didn't get harmed, I ordered a new aftermarket mirror assembly ($125.00, not the end of the world). Was hoping for advice and how to in regards to replacement this weekend. I have to remove the door panel which will be a first for me. I'm used to the old school stuff.

It busted the assembly clear off? Dang. A few weeks ago someone drove over the centerline and hit mine as I was going the opposite direction. Pulled my dashcam video just to make sure it wasn't my fault, and it wasn't. I had went over the centerline a little before passing him and he, probably some kid, decided to do the same but he didn't get back in time. It was not the widest of road. Just cracked the mirror glass as the assembly just folded up. It was less than $20 with a heating element. figured it'd be a lot more. I hope his got knocked clear off for that stunt. I hate it when they have trailer mirrors out with no trailer.
