I went to Beaver Springs today to get some practice in for the Y block shootout next month. I made one pass 17.58 @ 80 mph. They came to my pit and said I was putting down oil the whole way up the track. I don’t have time to fix the rear main seal, I’m hoping I can come up with some kind of diaper for the track. I can’t believe it was as bad as they said. I lost less than 1/2 a quart on the 95 mile drive home.

Ken, I met your boys. You must be feeding them pretty good, one of them is pretty big. Dennis

Don't they know Yblocks are notorious for marking their territory?

Didn't they let you run anymore?

Check the oil pan bolts adjacent to the rope seals. Sounds more like a leak at the filter or lines. A leak that large would seem to coat the underside of the truck pretty good.

They didn’t stop to clean the track after me, I can’t believe it was as bad as they said. There was an accident earlier in the day, so I guess they were being cautious.

It’s the rear main seal. Pretty greasy underneath. In 2013 when I put the G heads on and the 312 crank, I had a 272/292 gasket set. (I needed that for the G heads) I had to reuse the 239 side seals.

Dennis, Heard all about your day. Sorry about your bad luck. Our friends had bad luck too, as you know. The boys had been there since Wednesday. They ate pretty good there and always at home. When they got back Sat night, I looked at Adam and thought he grew since He was gone. They all had an enjoyable week, but were disappointed, thought there would be a bigger turnout.
